Addressing the event, Shabbir Jhatial, appreciated and motivated all the efforts of nurses and said that nurses are always at the forefront of health care, and they are the first contact with the patients. They should use their theoretical thinking and practical wisdom for not only the betterment of patients, but also meet the standard of their profession.
While talking about patient safety and care, special guest of the event, Khairunnisa Akbar, Controller Sindh Nursing Educational Board, commenced that the ratio of people dying from road accidents is increasing now a days. We require to provide urgent treatment to the patients as we receive such cases and for this we need proper trained nurses in hospitals. Global health cannot be achieved without nurses and without our proactive contribution and participation at all levels of the healthcare system.
Barrister Ali Tahir on the occasion said that the patients have all the rights to take you to the court, he can even sue you for his damages not only this but judge can also ask you to pay the patient if he had been facing financial affairs because of your negligence.
While speaking on the improving patient safety in health care organization, Khairunnisa Hooda, Sr Business Manager, AKUH said, "We should be careful while treating the patients because patient always comes first, we can't harm them. Our little mistake can lose single life.
Earlier, Pirzada Qasim, Vice Chancellor, Ziauddin University said, nurses work for humanity. They deserve our support, respect and appreciation. Competition is very tough in the world and we need to upgrade our healthcare structure. We need to send our nurses to foreign countries for proper training with latest technologies. Students of Ziauddin College of Nursing took oath and presented lamp lighting ceremony to pay tribute to Florence Nightingale.
